WhatMeans.com File Format Database

What-Means.com is a site about converters. If you need to convert a file or an object (like "picture" or "database") to another form the site will help you.

Click "Formats" in the Menu to get the alphabetical list of all formats and media which are available and select the format of your interest.. Every format page contains a shot description of the format (About ...), the links of all converters dealing with it (Supported by converters), and the Convertibility lists. The left column shows to which formats can be converted certain file, and the right column indicates which formats can be converted to it. Click any of these links to get the "How to convert ..." page.

How to Convert pages show the lists of all converters which deal with both formats of our interest. First go those converters which explicitly declare the type of conversion we need. Click any converter title to come to the page with the detailed description of that program with the free download link.

Alternatively, if you click "Converters" in the Menu you will go to the alphabetical list of all converters in our database to choose by the name. Clicking the "Categories" in the Menu allows to find all formats and media which belong to a certain category (Audio, Graphics etc.).
