They can play surround information through the front speakers if surround speakers are not available, and distribute the center channel to left and right if no center speaker is available.The AC3 data layout is described in official specifications by a simplified C-like language. An AC3 stream is made up by a series of synchronization frames, which are composed of 6 audio blocks (each of them contains 256 audio samples per channel).
