About Tagged Image File Format
TIFF (Tagged Image File Format) is a file format for mainly storing images, including photographs and line art with a high color depth.
TIFF is a flexible and adaptable file format. It can include tags in the file header and thus handle multiple images and data in a single file. Those tags can indicate the size of the image, or define how the image data is arranged and using various image compression options. TIFF can be used as a container for images compressed with JPEG or RLE algorithm. TIFF format is standard in document management systems. A multi-page document can be saved as a single TIFF file. |
