About Windows MetaFile
WMF (Windows Metafile) is a graphics file format on Microsoft Windows systems.
WMF isn't commonly used after such graphics formats as GIF and JPEG appeared. WMF is a vector graphics format which can also include raster graphics. A WMF file stores a list of function calls which have to be issued to the Windows graphics layer GDI to restore the image. The compressed versions of WMF is known as WMZ (Compressed Windows Metafile). |
