About Portable Document Format
PDF (Portable Document Format) is the file format created by Adobe Systems for document exchange. PDF is used to represent 2-dimensional documents in a device-independent and display resolution-independent fixed-layout document format. Each PDF file encapsulates a complete description of a 2D document which includes the text, images, fonts, and 2D vector graphics composing the document.
PDF combines sub-set of the PostScript page description programming language, structured storage system, and font embedding/replacement system. PDF format can include tags, captions, text equivalents, audio descriptions, etc. |
