About Zipped file
.zip is a filename extension for files compressed using ZIP compression.
Every ZIP file contains one or more files which have been compressed to reduce their file size or are stored uncompressed. Each file in the archive is compressed separately. This would allow to use a variety of compression algorithms, but in practice ZIP is almost always uses the deflate algorithm. ZIP supports a simple password-based symmetric encryption system. Some software uses the ZIP format for wrapping a number of small items in a specific structure (usually a different file extension is used). |
