About Microsoft Outlook
Outlook (full name Microsoft Office Outlook) is a personal information manager created by Microsoft as a part of Microsoft Office.
Microsoft Outlook provides not only e-mail service but also a calendar, contact and task management, note taking, a journal and web browsing. Outlook often operates in combination with Microsoft Exchange Server and Microsoft Office SharePoint Server to provide expanded functions for multiple users, such as shared mailboxes and calendars, Exchange public folders, Sharepoint lists and meeting time allocation. Outlook Express is a different e-mail/news client which was included with Internet Explorer versions IE 4.0 - 6.0 . These 2 programs have a common architectural philosophy but not share a common codebase. Outlook Express uses the Windows Address Book to store contact information. |
