About Raster graphics
Raster graphics image or bitmap, is a data structure which represents a rectangular grid of pixels viewable via a monitor or other display medium. Bitmap is characterized by the image's width and height in pixels and by the color depth (the number of bits per pixel or the number of colors). The color depth and the resolution (the total number of pixels) determine the quality of a raster image.
In contrast to the vector graphics, raster graphics are resolution dependent. |
