About DRM file
DRM (Digital Rights Management) is a technology used by publishers, copyright owners and hardware manufacturers to limit usage of digital media.
DRM is mainly applied to audio and video production (M4P, M4V, M4B files etc.) and has both advocates and opponents (they interpret DRM as Digital Restrictions Management). The legality of removing DRM protection from purchased digital products is differently treated in different countries (particularly, in the USA it is unlawful to circumvent such protected works without permission from the copyright holders). One should check the copyright protection issues in local legislation. |
